One of our lesser-known services is that we offer drainage assessments to resolve bulk water and rain water issues that are common in basements and crawlspaces. In this example, the client had water coming into her crawlspace in multiple locations which resulted in extensive mold in the crawlspace and high humidity levels. In addition to mitigating the mold and installing new gutters, our team also installed this new crawlspace well liner with a cover to keep the rain out. We removed the original concrete block wall liner and replaced it with a corrugated metal liner with a sliding lid. Rock was added inside the well to make a cleaner entry in and out of the crawlspace. In the next phase of the project, we will encapsulate her crawlspace with a vapor barrier on the ground, insulation in the rims joists and down the walls, and an insulated door. These strategies will help resolve the bulk water, reduce relative humidity, help keep pests out of the crawlspace, and improve the energy efficiency of the home in general.
